Assist the Radiology Staff in the performance of all duties of the Department as needed. Provides courteous patient care.
To provide safe, courteous and efficient patient transportation to and from the Radiology Department, reporting any unusual occurrences to the Supervisor.
Assist patients to and from X-Ray tables, stretchers and wheelchairs. Responsible for assessing and attending to all patients’ needs, i.e., providing patients with bedpans, urinals, blankets, etc. This includes remaining with patients between studies in the x-ray department, especially the elderly and confused or as directed by Technologists or Radiologists.
Assumes responsibility for the X-Ray rooms, Lounge and Common areas maintaining a clean and safe area for patients, their families and staff. Reports unsafe conditions and equipment malfunctions.
Responsible for displaying courtesy and sensitivity to our customers. Meets commitments and responds promptly to customer needs.
Thorough knowledge of all Laser printers and related imaging duplication including but not limited to: laser film inventory and orders, maintenance and Quality Control testing. Reporting any unusual situations to the supervisor.
Complete stock item order forms based on established procedures. Pick up and deliver supplies and equipment. Deliver items to the floors following established guidelines.
Will assist with File Room activities as needed. Thorough knowledge of file room activities including but not limited to, jacket retrieval and computer use, i.e., looking up x-ray numbers, scheduling procedures. Accurate completion of medical information release and authorization for copies forms abiding by HIPPA regulations is essential.
Assists the Hospital and the Department in meeting and exceeding their commitment of Continuous Improvement.
Performs routine office duties such as answering telephones, check on previous reports, images, etc., whenever necessary.
May be required to work overtime and/or evenings, nights, weekends or holidays to meet the needs of the Department.
May be required to assist in the Radiology file room or in Radiology reception area.
Will treat all people (e.g., patients, visitors, and hospital staff) in a professional and courteous fashion.
Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient served on the assigned unit.
Maintains refrigerator logs and crash carts.
Performs related duties as required.
ADA Essential Functions
· High school diploma or GED, preferred.
· Experience in a Hospital setting, preferred.
· Excellent verbal / written communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to plan and meet deadlines.
