JOB TITLE : LEAD ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST - REGISTERED

DEPARTMENT : Maternal Fetal Medicine

REPORTS TO : Chief Ultrasound Technologist

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs functions of a Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technologist. Provides guidance and direction to Ultrasound Technologist, students and medical staff rotating through the Department. Oversees sonographers /patient scheduling. Assigns and distributes works to assigned personnel. Maintains records.

RESPONSIBILITIES








  1. Provides guidance and direction to ultrasound technologists as well as staff, students and medical staff rotating through area. Assists with resolution of technical problems.

  2. Operates ultrasonic diagnostic equipment and performs other duties of an ultrasound technologist, as required.

  3. Oversees patient scheduling function for area.

  4. Assigns and distributes work to assigned personnel.

  5. Maintains flow and quality of work to assure proper utilization of ultrasound facilities.

  6. Provides in-service training on new procedures/techniques.

  7. Maintain all records and reports for section.

  8. Performs related duties, as required- Fetal Echo

  9. Keep track of supplies for the department

  10. Motivate team and act as a resource for your team.

*ADA Essential Functions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Graduate from an approved Ultrasound Program, required.

  • Registry, required.

  • Fetal Echo certification required ( 12 months to obtain)

  • BLS certification, required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience required, to ensure familiarity with ultrasonic techniques and procedures.

  • Specialized in ultrasonic techniques and procedures, required.

  • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and obtain appropriate imaging of anatomical structures, etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
