Provides guidance, oversight, and leadership in NWH's Community Health Education and Outreach programs. Responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of programs related to health promotions, and education in northern Westchester County. Includes managing public health screenings and vaccination clinics, school education and outreach programs, and other strategic programs and priorities of NWH / Northwell Health.
Supervises and monitors community-based health programs and the activities of department staff, interns and volunteers.
Develops plans and implements programs on a wide range of public health issues for children, teens, adults, seniors, professionals, and the underserved- including the immigrant community.
Produces curricula, content and materials.
Recruits, supervises, and coordinates nurses, dietitians, and other NWH staff to provide health screenings and education.
Oversees the quality of screenings, educational materials, and presentations.
Supervises and monitors youth programs and initiatives that build awareness, knowledge, skills and attitudes that support a healthy community. This includes oversight and management of the President’s Junior Leadership Council (PJLC).
Maintains collaborative working relations with area schools and community based organizations.
Cultivates new contacts and linkages to further NWH’s mission. Represents NWH on community work groups, committees, and/or coalitions, as needed.
Designs, coordinates and conducts workshops and presentations.
Tracks data to conduct monitoring and evaluation of programs.
Participates in developing grant proposals and donor reports.
Performs related duties, as required.
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Management, Education, or related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university, and minimum of eight (8) years of related professional experience, with three (3) years of program management in a supervisory role; OR
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, with five (5) years of program management in a supervisory role.
Experience with program planning, objectives and budgets, and tracking progress, curriculum and/or material design and development, required.
Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.
Highly effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, required.
Competent in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, preferred.
