Job Description

In this role, you will perform investigative research under the mentorship of Dr. Ona Bloom, Associate Professor, in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI). The project utilizes biochemical, cell biological, immunological and functional genomics methods. You will interact with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians working in the field of SCI. Please click here for more information on the department.

You will publish and present data in a timely manner. You will also work collaboratively with other investigators to facilitate their scientific research and training. Furthermore, you will participate in various types of institute and community activities and may apply for grant funding and/or patents as appropriate.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Performsresearch projects as directed. Follows and adheres to experimental protocols ina proficient and meticulous manner.

  • Responsiblefor the collection, analysis and interpretation of research data related tospinal cord injury associated projects.

  • Submitsmanuscripts and abstracts for publication to peer review journals andpresentations at local, national and international conferences.

  • Performs avariety of tasks, including but not limited to, collecting clinical andbiological data, conducting studies, data analysis, maintaining records, charts,etc.

  • Responsiblefor all other research related activities as needed.


  • Doctorate(Ph.D., M.D., D.O., DVM, or equivalent) Degree, required.

  • Applicantmust demonstrate a clear enthusiasm for clinical or basic research.

  • Applicantmust have an excellent professional record and be skilled in the followingareas: organization, time management, written and oral communication, ability towork independently, ability to interact with members of a multidisciplinaryresearch and clinical team.

  • Applicant must have lessthan 3 years of prior postdoctoral training, due to funding agency requirements
