Job Category Food Service
Prepares and cooks food. Prepares sandwiches, entr'e salads, etc. Assists in assembling trays and related food service duties.
Prepares and cooks food for patients and cafeteria customers.
Prepares food according to standardized recipes and quality guidelines.
Uses production tally, removes food items necessary for production.
Uses portion size guidelines when fulfilling requests.
Prepares and/or cooks food in a timely manner. Notifies Supervisor of any anticipated delays.
Ensures prepared food items are at required temperature for serving.
Utilizes food production equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintains proper attire when handling food.
Utilizes cooking utensils according to policies and procedures.
Cleans work area, surfaces and storage areas thoroughly.
Refrigerates food items according to established policies and procedures (i.e. dating, labeling, wrapping, etc.).
Demonstrates working knowledge of food safety standards.
Performs related duties, as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Minimum of two (2) years food service experience in a hospital setting, required.
Ability to communicate effectively.
